Adjusting the Goring Kerr TEK 21 Phase and Sensitivity settings

Control panel setup for the Goring Kerr TEK 21 is fairly simple.  The key settings are found in three sections.  First, the phase setting and mode are essential and dependent on your specific product.  Food products like unfrozen meats, cheese and bread typically operate under the conductive mode.  While products like gum, candy operate in the non-conductive mode.  Set the mode switch to your specific product needs.

The sensitivity settings is next.  Passing clean product through the aperture with the correct phase setting adjust the sensitivity control until you have no-false rejects.  Once this is set place your metal test samples within the product stream to test detection levels.  For the TEK 21 metal detector you may need to follow these steps multiple times through your production run.  For more free information about the Goring Kerr TEK 21 visit the Goring Kerr Resource Center

Reject timing on the TEK 21

Adjusting the reject timing is an essential setup to ensure full rejection of all products with metal.  On the control panel adjust the delay and duration controls until you have completely removed the contaminated product from the conveyor belt.
